Oasis - Ideal Location for Community Projects
Oasis hosts a number of concessions that aim to impact every area of the community. We have rooms available for specialist groups and functions. Our Catering Team can prepare anything from teas, coffees and biscuits to light snacks for individuals or buffet lunches for groups.
- Large conference room with sound system
- Smaller meeting rooms
- Functioning café and bistro
Lone Parent Classes
This programme helps lone parents to train for and get back into employment, whilst providing childcare facilities for them. We work with this group, providing rooms that will help them to function and complete their programmes. We support and encourage people of all age groups as they integrate back into society and into employment.
Phoenix Programme
The Phoenix Programme is a support group for people recovering from depression, breakdowns, phobias and other conditions resulting in loss of self-confidence.
We work with the NHS Wigan and Leigh Community Health Team, as part of an initiative of Care within the Community and an NHS Mental Health nurse works with the group.
The group meets to share experiences and help each other to develop confidence, and stability. We can also direct people towards skill development and education and training, to help them integrate back into the community in a positive and fulfilling way.
We have visits form various organisations such as adult learning or lone parent groups, to discuss some of the options which group members may find interesting.
Phoenix group members come from all walks of life to share their experiences, to receive help and advice, and to help other members of the group to develop a life within the community independent of the NHS support agencies.
We meet on alternate Tuesdays in the Oasis Café and lounge.
