We all need help and encouragement throughout the journey, whether we've been a Christian for a short time or a long time. At ECC we offer a number of initiatives for personal growth and development, including a number of specifically arranged events and courses: First StepsPeople come into contact with ECC in various ways and start attending for a variety of reasons. First Steps is offered to everyone who is new to ECC. This seminar - based course includes "being sure you are a Christian" and gives a basic introduction to what it means to be part of ECC - what ECC stands for and where we are going. Marriage GuidanceWe believe that between a man and woman, marriage is a gift from God and is one of the most important foundations in society. Our goal is to strengthen and enrich marriages and promote integrity and unity in the home. We aim to help men and women re-energise and flourish in their roles as husbands and wives and find fulfilment in all seasons of life. At ECC we offer a number of initiatives geared towards developing healthy marriages: The Marriage CourseThe Marriage Course is designed to enrich married life and to build a healthy relationship that will last a lifetime. The Marriage Course is for any couple who wants to work together at their relationship whether they have been married two years or thirty. The course is not only beneficial for those whose marriage is already strong but it also helps couples who are going through difficulties. Pre-Marriage CourseThe Pre-Marriage course is for engaged couples who want to lay a strong foundation for a lasting marriage. It gives your marriage the best possible start. If you are contemplating getting married or engaged or you are a couple who have been living together, you can use this course to explore the idea of getting married. The evenings are very relaxed. There are refreshments followed by short talks interspersed with exercises and questions for you to discuss together as a couple. All of ECC's marriage guidance material is based on Christian principles and led by Christians; it is also beneficial for those with no Christian faith or church background. Divorce and BereavementECC are also on-hand to offer love, advice and support, during the most difficult times in life.
