Lifeline - Contributing In Our Community
Lifeline is Elim Christian Church's practical solution to many peoples' needs in Wigan. Lifeline's purpose is to relieve poverty and distress among those persons who are affected by debt, through offering free help and solutions to debt-related problems.
Lifeline also aims to meet the needs of those who are hungry, through our food aid programme, in which we give away food free of charge to the people who most need it.
Lifeline's vision is not only to serve the physical needs of people but to satisfy the spiritual needs of people also. Lifeline believes that Jesus Christ is the only real and lasting solution to peoples' needs and so we offer a number of Jesus-centred activities to draw peoples' attention to this fact.
Lifeline holds the hugely successful Alpha programme for 9 months of the year, as well as engaging in street work with a view to attracting people to come and see what Elim Christian Centre is about.

You can take back control of your finances
Our expert advisors are on-hand to help improve your money management skills to help people take control of their finances and rid themselves of debt.
Although the programme is based on Christian principles and run by Christians, Elim Christian Centre welcomes those of no Christian faith or Church background.
Food Aid
Food Aid from the Elim Christian Centre is another strand of the Christians Against Poverty initiative. We distribute food parcels to those in our community who need it but cannot afford to buy it.
If you are able to support this activity by donating non perishable food it would be greatly appreciated, by us and by the families who will benefit. This is a truly practical and beneficial way of helping others in our community who have the greatest need.

The Alpha Course
Alpha is an opportunity for anyone to explore the Christian faith in a relaxed setting over thirteen thought-provoking weekly sessions. The Alpha Course consists of a series of talks addressing key issues relating to the Christian faith. It is low-key, friendly and fun. Alpha is beneficial to those wanting to investigate Christianity, new Christians or who those who want to brush up on the basics
